About Daphne
See Daphne's Movie https://youtu.be/NnqFYc-oIMI
Likes, Dislikes, Fears, Endearments and Quirks
By far Daphne's strongest qualities is her loyalty and affection. ''I'd honestly trust her with my life,'' says he carer. She loves hugs and is playful. Daphne likes playing tug of war with her squeaky toys - chickin lickin (chook) and rosy posy (pig). Other favourite pastimes include:
- the dog beach
- off lead parks
- walks
- playing fetch.
She also enjoys chilling out on her bed.
Daphne is frightened of thunder and can get anxious during storms.
Daphne is very intuitive, intelligent and interacts with her family - letting her owner know when it is time for a cuddle or a pat with a gentle nuzzle. When called she will pick up one of her squeaky toys and bring it with her. When needing to go in or out she will stand at the door quietly or bark once.
Being the character she is Daphne will sometimes start chewing her squeaky toy when her owner starts talking on the phone.
Ideal Owner
Minor skin condition only on her nose - easy to control
Daphne would ideally love a home where someone is home more often than not. She is very people orientated and will make a devoted, loyal companion. She needs a home where she is welcome to be involved with family activities that are active and eager to get 'out and about' and have fun with Daphne. She needs to be the only permanent dog in the home.
She will not suit homes with residents that are very young, frail, elderly, renters, time poor or full time workers.
Tolerance to Being Alone During the Day
She will alert to something strange but is not currently a nuisance barker. Daphne will suit any of the following:
- someone home more often than not.
- empty nesters.
- active retirees.
While she prefers human company she can cope alone.
Exercise Requirements
High - will run and run, cannot miss a day.
When ON a lead ...
Like most dogs she starts off pulling but settles.
Daphne obeys commands to stop, sit and walk when on street corners.
Daphne is strong and can pull when distracted by another dog for example.
When OFF a lead ...
She stays close by and comes when called. She will also respond to being commanded to stop and wait.
Type of Yard Required
Daphne needs a large secure and interesting yard with 6 foot fencing. She is not destructive and can be trusted unsupervised inside.
Good with Other Friendly Dogs she knows. May tell a bossy dog to go away.
Not Good with Cats
Good with Kids + 7 yrs (as she jumps when excited)

Adoption details
ADOPTION PROCESS (simple and easy)
1. Read the dog's detailed profile thoroughly - for you to self screen
2. The Expression of Interest (EOI) form MUST be completed prior to a meet and greet.
https://www.dogadoption.org.au/expression-of-interest---adoption.html
3. Speak to the carer/owner directly for more detailed info to determine if there are any 'deal breakers' - designed to save time and avoid falsely raising hopes.
4. 'Meet & Greet' - you travel to where the dog is. If you have a current dog it must meet too. We strongly recommend all members of the family attend. Both parties may wish to report their thoughts to each other but MUST update Dog Adoption directly too.
5. The dog MUST not be taken on the day unless PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS have been made e.g. travelling more then 2 hrs round trip. In this case we need a minimum of 2 days notice. The adoption agreement and payment must be made before collection of the dog.
6. Normally, both parties have a think about the meeting, and if they wish to proceed, the adoption is completed after the adoption agreement, payment and screening is finalised.
7. A 2 week cooling off period commences once the dog arrives.
