About Wally
Poor Wally. This very handsome and cute boy you see in the photo needs a home with a family who are experienced in the issues that Wally has - one being separation anxiety. Wally always wants to be beside you and to know where you are at all times. He is the definition of a Velcro dog! Wally gets extremely anxious if left alone so he is undergoing crate and matt training to help overcome his need to be with you constantly. He is intelligent and is responding well but you will need to be firm and encourage him to follow the rules.
Wally travels well in the car (preferably as close to you as possible to supervise your driving) and gets along with pretty much every dog he meets. He is great off-leash and has excellent recall.
What Wally isn't a fan of though is bicycles and motorbikes when he is out for his walk. However with daily exposure he has been showing progress by barely glancing at them by the end of the walk. He has been known to react to dogs when he is on lead but with an assertive handler and a special extend-a-lead he behaves very well.
Wally would do best with an owner who works from home or retired and who has the time and patience to integrate Wally into the home without letting him rule the roost. His new family must be prepared to know as much about separation anxiety as possible and continue his new training regime to help him conquer his fears of being left. We also feel he is suited to a home as the only pet and no children.
Wally is very loving, loyal and smart. If you are that special person he needs you will be greatly rewarded with his love. Please email us as much about yourself and family so that we can see if you would both be a good match!
