Our gorgeous long termer William is searching for his perfect forever home. William came to us years ago from a rural pound as a very timid and shut down boy who wouldn't even let us touch him. After years of love he is now a sweet and loving boy who is needing a home of his own.
William can be initially nervous with new people, however once he trusts you, he is an absolute smoocher! He tends to forget that he is literally enormous, and will plonk himself right next to you for head scratches. His favourite thing (besides eating) is being brushed. He will see you pick up the cat brush and will push his way infront of his foster friends for a good brush. He will let you brush him until your arm starts to hurt!
William has lived in a multi cat household and would need to go to a home with at least one other friendly young cat for company. Despite his huge size he is quite a softy, and will squish himself in the cat bed with his buddies for a cuddle. William gets along with all cats, however he seems to bond closer to other adult male cats. William needs a quiet home where his new owners understand that he will need some time to settle into his new environment, and a home that allows him to do this at his own pace.
William is also needing a new foster home. He requires a home that doesn't supply access to food 24/7, and where his food portions can be monitored. Other than eating way to much at his meal times, William isn't a very food motivated cat. He doesn't steal food, or show interest in human foods.
Please get it touch with us if you would like to know more about our gorgeous sweet boy. ❤️
Adoption details
If you would like to know more information about any of our rescue animals, our rescue group, or to arrange a meet and greet, please email us. Please provide us with your name, email address, contact number, and some information about yourself, and the home you have to offer one of our rescue animals.
About us:
Gary and the Handicats Rescue is run soley by a Vet Nurse who works shift work and also cares for sick and high needs rescue animals. We strive to get back to you within 24 hours, but during busy kitten seasons there may be a delay. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Please note we do not run on a "first in first served" basis. We screen applicants well before proceeding with adoption. Vet and rental references may be required for certain special needs adoptions.
We receive a large amount of interest in our handraised kittens, and certain special needs animals. Please understand that if you're application isn't successful, this may just be due to the amount of applications we have had for that particular animal, and not because of the home you have to offer. Preference is always given to our past adopters.
Meet and Greets:
• Meet and greets are held in an environment where the particular cat or kitten feels most comfortable.
• Please do not bring your own animals to a meet and greet.
• We do not allow any of our animals to be taken home on the day of the meet and greet. Special circumstances may be considered.
Picking up you're new family member:
• You MUST bring a safe, secure, and size appropriate carrier for your baby to travel home in. We do not have carriers to provide new adopters, and we will not send home one of our rescue animals in a cardboard box or a washing basket. If a carrier isn't able to be provided, your adoption will be cancelled.
The rescue group is no longer taking adoption applications for this pet.
