About Percy
Please note: Percy is looking for a home where he will have another dog for company.
Meet Percy. His foster family have already been charmed by his sweet, affectionate and easy going nature. He does not mind long car trips and sits beside you very nicely smelling the air. If you are a gardener Percy wonāt mind one bit. He loves to hang out with his people in the yard.
Percy can usually be found on the lookout for affection and walks. Heās more than happy to follow you around until you get the message, and how could anyone resist. A trusted bond with his foster carer has developed quickly and he has even attempted to jump up on her lap for a pat and cuddle.
Percy is placid around other dogs but gets very excited when he meets a new doggy friend. He gets along with the cat he shares his foster home with, provided they ignore each other and the pigeons in the backyard ignore him and just walk away instead of flying. So as you can imagine, Percy isnāt too intimidating to his fellow creatures.
Percy walks well on the lead. His recall is improving, it is quite slow - that is unless you are calling him for mealtime! He is working on his sit command and has almost mastered house training. Percyās new home will ideally have another dog to share his world with. He is like a little shadow as he follows you around so can be a bit of a trip hazard as heās generally at your feet. Percy is very people focused so his new family will have plenty of time to spend with this amazing little soul. He has a cheeky habit of jumping to snatch food as he is very food motivated. When he came into our care he was quite overweight so he will require a careful diet with not too many treats.
Percy is a special dog who will make a wonderful companion for his very lucky adopters. We adore him and we are sure you will too!

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer a six-week full refund, free assistance for six weeks for any issues, and a lifetime takeback policy with a fifty percent refund of the adoption fee, and of course an invitation to our adoptersā Christmas party.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
