About Kiki ~ Golden Retriever (on trial 22/7/18)
This beautiful purebred Golden Retriever is Kiki. She is 5 years old and looking for a new, loving home.
Kiki is a real lady. She walks with her tail up and head held high. She is quite the looker!
Kiki is an inside dog as loves the company of her people. Content to sit on her mat when inside – I’m sure she could be coaxed to sit on the couch with you! Kiki sleeps inside and once in bed you do not hear a peep out of her. She is toilet trained.
Kiki enjoys her walks and does pull a little on lead so would benefit from a walking harness.
She does have a long coat and she does shed. Sometimes she can be a bit of a princess with her food and might like to be hand-fed.
Kiki is happy with her family’s company so would prefer to be an only dog. She has lived with another female and male dog before coming into care but didn’t get on well with the male.
Kiki has been exposed to a cat and chickens while in care and whilst she and the cat have developed an understanding, she shows a little too much interest in the chickens. We are thinking it she may be better in a home without pocket pets.
Kiki is not a nuisance barker, jumper or escape artist. She enjoys a car ride so would make a great companion for someone.
Kiki would suit a family with older kids as she still gets a bit excited at times.
If you are interested in Kiki, please contact her carer Gillian at gillianweatherall@gmail.com She is located in Maitland and only up for adoption in the greater Newcastle area.
Kiki’s adoption fee is $450 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
