About Buddy ~ Maltese x Shih Tzu (on trial 15/10/18)
Are you are single person looking for a little companion? Then stop looking because here is Buddy, a 12 year old Maltese x Shih Tzu also looking for a human companion to spend his days with.
Buddy loves nothing more then to sit on your lap while your watch TV. With this cold weather he will make the perfect lap warmer.
Buddy is in really good health for his age and may I point out his perfect teeth.
Buddy was surrendered not that long ago through no fault of his own. He was mainly an outside but since being in care just loves being inside with his carers. He sleeps all night in the laundry with his warm coat on in his bed.
Buddy was a little nervous when first arriving and did have a few accidents inside but has learnt very quickly to use the doggy door and now takes himself outside to go to the bathroom. Just goes to show that you can train an old dog new tricks!
Buddy loves a walk and gets very excited to go for his daily walks. He does find cars quite fascinating and thinks he should chase them so this boy cannot be off lead while walking. He also enjoys a car ride so a perfect dog to take on outings.
Buddy would prefer to be an only dog with just a single family member as gets very attached to the one person and very protective so if you are having someone over best put Buddy in a nice quiet room.
Buddy loves his food and happy to do some training with treats. We think Buddy in his older age might be losing his hearing.
If you would like to meet Buddy he is with his carers Janis and Peter at Gillieston Heights. Please contact Sharron on 0423331057 or email sstudley3@bigpond.com who is taking all enquiries for him.Buddy is not available for adoption interstate.
Buddy’s adoption fee is $250 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
