About Theodore
PLEASE DO NOT APPLY FOR THEODORE IF:
- You have children or want a dog that can be around children
- You have a busy household
- You're looking for a dog you can take out and about with you
- You have another dog
- You have a cat
Theodore has some behavior issues that will need continued support from his adopter in his new home. Ideally his new owners will have the help from a professional trainer.
Theodore is a special dog. He is adorable and loving but has had a rough start in life where he likely had very little human contact. Theodore needs a lot of love, patience and persistence to overcome his fears of the outside world.
Once you gain his trust, he is a loyal, affectionate dog who loves pats, cuddles and tummy rubs. He has a sense of adventure and loves to run in the outdoors. He will stick close to his humans when out and about. Theodore loves to play with his squeaky toys and he is working on his toilet training but will likely have a few accidents moving into a new environment.
Due to his past, he is scared of many things which manifests in a number of ways. He barks when strangers come into the house or even at house members who he hasn't seen in a little while. He can walk on a lead, but is scared easily by loud noises, such as motorbikes and trams. Theodore is not suitable for environments with children, other dogs or cats. He likes a quiet home and space in which to feel safe. He can take a while to trust, so his humans may not be able to pat him straight away.
