About Floyd ~ Jack Russell (on trial 26/7/2018)
My name is Floyd and I am a gorgeous white 18 month old male Jack Russell Terrier with a beautiful orange face. I am very healthy and weigh about 6 kg.
I believe I would be a wonderful therapy dog for someone with a disability (any age but certainly not essential) and who would love to have me as their best mate, would want me on their lap lots as I just sit and snuggle, and would allow me to sleep with them and keep them warm – I just lay in bed all night without moving.
I love humans and kids of all ages and other dogs and just want to be loved with cuddles, hugs, kisses and kindness. I don’t know what I am like with cats as I have never lived with any. I am currently living with 5 other small dogs and get on well with all of them but there are just too many - I would prefer no other pets or maybe 1 at the most because I want all the attention.
I am toilet trained and go in and out from the house to the back yard via a doggy door (with a plastic flap), and love food including the occasional smacko, nightly dentastix and puppy milk. This puppy milk gives me so much energy – yum yum yum. I sit on command, lay down and roll over. I am a very obedient little guy and don’t believe in fighting.
I walk on a lead and travel well in a car. I don’t bark very often and am good when left at home, but when you get back home I get very excited and expect me to jump up and down at your feet and maybe even undo your shoe laces.
I must go to a home where I sleep inside every night.
My foster carer Don has told me that he is not in any hurry to adopt me out and that he will look after me until I find the perfect home no matter how long that may take. He is so wonderful to me and I know that I give him a lot of joy too. Between you and me I know that he will be extremely upset when I leave.
For more information or to meet Floyd, please contact his foster carer Don on 0429 082 582 or emailing him on v8supercarrick@hotmail.com Floyd is in foster care in Newcastle area , NSW and is available for adoption in Hunter region only.
Floyd’s adoption fee is $500 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
