About Truffle ~ Husky x Staffy (on trial 25/7/2018)
Hi! My name is Truffle, a 3 year old Husky x Staffy - most unusual! I do have short hair, thankfully. I’m a medium/large size at 28kg, and I stand about mid-thigh height on my mum. My family thinks I am very pretty with my eyeliner and mask.
I am very loving, friendly and placid. I adore meeting new people and other dogs, I am VERY social. I’ll roll over for a tummy rub when I meet you. I love going to markets and festivals and I behave really well in a crowd. I smile a lot and nothing phases me. I am great off lead and I love to run at Redhead and the dog park - I do need a lot of exercise, play and mental games. I chase sticks, balls, love tug of war and I especially love the water. Take me to the lake any time even in cold weather I want to swim. I have a paddling pool in summer. I’ll even chase the sand and sea foam for fun.
I love my Kong and will spend hours pushing my treat ball around. I am very snuggly and will curl up for long pats and I’ve grown up with kids, I don’t even mind being used as a pillow. I also live happily with a cat, but I do like to chase strange cats. I would really like another dog to keep me company or at least someone home during the day, I don’t like being on my own for long hours.
I am an inside/outside dog, I sleep inside and I am totally house trained. I love car trips, exploring, camping, bush runs and even shopping, as long as I am out and about with you. I wait patiently at shops and cafes while you have your coffee.
I have all my training, sit, stay, come, drop, leave etc and I have completed my Canine Good Citizen course. My bad habits would be jumping up to say hello, sleeping on the couch or sneaking onto your bed, and licking you. Otherwise I’m an angel!
My family loves me very very much but mum has to travel for work now and I’m getting lonely and sad so I am looking for a new loving family where I can get LOTS of attention, runs and snuggles. My mum really wants to make sure I go to a good home so she will ask you a lot of questions. I have been with my family since I was an 8 week old puppy so I will need some adjustment time. I have moved house though so I can adapt quite well.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
