About Teddy
My name is Teddy, I am about 6 years old and all I want is your attention and love.Teddy s leg was injured when he was a puppy and he has been in reasonable discomfort up until he came into Blacktown pound just recently, this has been nearly 6 years he has tolerated this, thankfully due to the university teaching hospital this has now been rectified and Claws n Paws were asked to take over care and find this boy a loving home :-)
I will suit a family being the only pet as I don’t like sharing my people and cuddles.
I am a very loyal boy and love to be next to my owner. Would suit someone who is home a lot as a companion animal.
I am very good in the car and will wait for you without complaining.
I like my walks but a little more training is required when I meet other dogs . I am easy to walk and do not pull on leash.
I have been good around my foster kids ( 5 & 9 ) there has never been any concern about him being around my kids and they just loved him.
I can be a bit snappy towards other dogs and will protest if you try touching my leg atm as the surgery has only been 3 weeks.
Teddy will go for a wander and will try to sneak through your door so always need to be on the leash and in a secure yard.
Please read medical section regarding Teddy recent surgery.
Medical notes
Teddy had surgery on 25/06/18 at the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital Camden. He had a Femoral Head excision surgery performed as consequence of an old Femoral Head fracture. Removing the dog joint has eliminated the source of pain.
Teddy does not need follow up treatment for this. He will slowly gain use to his 4 legs as normal within time but will need to be monitored over the next few weeks. He will come with a brand new box of pain medication if needed. Currently he is increasing the use of his 4th leg everyday and showing no discomfort.
However Please note that Teddy is a bit protective over his leg at the moment , but he s not aggressive about it just a bit wary ….
