JJ had a rough start to life, she had no human interaction until she came to CPS at 8 weeks of age. She went into foster care for a while to learn to trust humans. It took time and patience for JJ to realise she was safe and loved. Her carer said that JJ became the cuddliest kitten she had ever had and it really broke her carers heart to bring her back. JJ was finally adopted but unfortunately through no fault of her own it did not work out, so JJ is back with us again.
JJ who is now 7 months old has been on the streets, at the shelter, in foster care, back at the shelter, adopted and back at the shelter. That’s a lot of relocating for a very young shy girl. She has been at the shelter the most and is a delight to meet, because she see's the shelter as her home.
JJ is shy at first but warms up quickly with and ear rub and the purring starts.
We want to find this gorgeous girl the home she deserves, we don’t want her adopted out of pity, we want her adopted into a home that understands she is going to take a very long-time to settle, it must be a quiet and patient home that understands her.
JJ would do very well in a home with a feline friend to learn from. We will give all the advice and support we can to the right home for JJ.

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open between 10am-4pm Mon-Fri and 10am and 3pm Sat-Sun.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
