About Diesel and Lucy - Maltese x pair (on trial 7/8/18)
Introducing Diesel and Lucy! Diesel is a 10 year old male Maltese x Jack Russell (white/caramel) and Lucy is a 7 year old female Maltese x Shitzu (grey/black). These are two very special little dogs that will steal your heart, as they have mine.
Diesel and Lucy arrived at Dog Rescue Newcastle as a private surrender, under very difficult circumstances. Their dad has terminal cancer, and our promise is to find them the perfect furever home.
Diesel, well don't let his age fool you, he is full of life and an energetic dog that loves to play fetch or just play with his foster brothers and sisters. He is also just happy to potter in the garden with you & lay in the sun.
Lucy is a homebody, who loves nothing more than to snuggle up with you on the lounge, in bed, in your arms, wherever! Lucy will venture outside, as long as you are with her too. She is not a fan of big dogs or roughhousing play and will run to you if she is worried. She is a sideline spectator.
Lucy and Diesel will play together, and Lucy is most happy when she can play with just Diesel.
Both love car rides and walks in the park. They both love children but I would recommend children be 8 years upwards, as Diesel does not like being picked up under his front legs.
Both sleep inside, on your bed, I don't think this is negotiable in their minds. Both are toilet trained, but best to remind both dogs to go to the toilet, we take them outside during the day and before we go to bed.
Diesel will warn you if someone is near your property, he can bark at the fence but will come when called. Lucy, I think she will only bark if the situation really calls for this.
Diesel and Lucy would be best suited to a home where someone is there more often than not. Both can suffer separation anxiety. Lucy gets so excited to see you, she will stand on her back legs and wave at you! Diesel makes the cutest noises, almost like he's so excited he can't bark right.
Only the very best of homes will be selected for these two, so if you think you can offer Diesel and Lucy a warm caring home, full of hugs, snuggles and kisses, please complete our adoption application http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx and email this to their carer, Joanne on designer.stable@bigpond.com, if you have any questions, please feel free to email these as well.
Diesel and Lucy are in foster care in Dora Creek, NSW (Lake Macquarie) and are available for adoption interstate.
Diesel and Lucy’s adoption fee is $650 and they are desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
