About Marcie
I'd like to all to meet Marcie!
Where to start with this little lady... Marcie was handed in as a stray to a local Vet clinic and when her owner was contacted he made it very clear he did not want and could not afford her care (mainly the pound fees she had been building up) and asked if we could step in and find her a new home, of course we said yes. Marcie needed some hefty vet work, she was still entire, had the most shocking teeth you've ever seen, chronic ear infections & a bad case flea dermatitis. Well look at her now! with the generosity of of the public we were able to raise most of the much needed funds to get her vet work done & now she is a whole new gal.
Likes:
Cuddles, food, cosy jackets, cosy blankets, cosy beds, being warm, food, humans, dogs, cats, bigger little humans, butt scratches, walkies, did we mention food?
Dislikes:
The cone of shame, having her feet touched too much, the vet, dogs who stand on her (see foster brother), ear medication, not getting attention, being restrained.
She has great recall and is a very smart girl who is quick to learn, she sits for her food, knows 'outside', 'get down' and 'in your bed' very well. While she had been a repeat escape artist in her previous home which was a part of them surrendering her and cost them a lot of money, she has not shown an ounce of interest in leaving her foster carers side since the day we got her but it may be something to take into consideration if you are deciding to adopt Marcie.
Marcie only has a couple of teeth now as all her other teeth had either already fallen out of were so rotten they needed to be removed, This hasn't stopped her appetite, this girl loves her food! She has an she has been desexed and had an umbilical hernia repaired, been vaccinated, is micro chipped and heartworm protected. Marcie also has what we think is a soft tissue injury to her right hip, she has had x-rays and nothing has been noted structurally, she is on pain relief and anti-inflammatory for this and while it doesn't seem to bother her at all she does have a pronounced limp at times. She also has had chronic ear infections that have not been treated but are now being treated, she does not like having her ears medicated so has had to be sedated and long lasting ear drops placed to hopefully fix them up but may she may be prone to them in the future.
If you would like to meet Marcie please get in touch with her foster carer via email or phone anytime to receive an adoption questionnaire and if successful a meet and greet can be arranged.Marcie is located in Cranbourne Vic.
Medical notes
Luxating patella on each back leg - non issue, grade 1/5 at most, prone to ear infections, soft tissue injury/muscle strain in right hip, very little teeth (can still have dry food diet) remaining teeth need to be looked after, sensitive skin.
