About Bailey ~ Border Collie X (on trial 21/7/2018)
This very happy go lucky boy is Bailey. He is a 14 month old Border Collie X, well only a little cross as his mum was a purebred Border Collie and dad was a Border Collie x Cattle Dog.
Bailey loves, loves his toys and playing fetch. He is at his happiest having someone to play with him in the yard. Bailey is super smart but being a young boy his attention span is rather short. He hasn’t had much training and would love nothing more then for someone to spend the time with him to further his training. He is learning very quickly and can sit and come when called. He does jump up to say hello but is being taught to sit for a good pat.
Bailey does pull a bit on lead and will need a good walking harness to help with this. He hasn’t had a lot of socialisation with other dogs and does get a bit excited with other dogs but he is a social boy and would love to play. He hasn’t been exposed to cats or pocket pets.
Bailey is toilet trained but does pee a little when excited or nervous. He does currently sleep outside on his nice warm bed but we would like a spot inside for him. It is a must for Bailey to be with his family and be allowed inside when someone is home for some of the time. He doesn’t mind being outside but wouldn’t suit a family who is not home much so full time workers are not suitable.
Bailey's perfect home is a good size yard to play in, someone who wants to play with him in this yard, a daily walk, a family that wants him as a family member and a home that will love him. Bailey is a delight and will bring one lucky family so much joy!
Since Bailey can be a bit excitable, children over 10 years old would be a better fit.
If you would like to meet Bailey please email Sharron on sstudley3@bigpond.com with a DRN questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx Bailey is with his lovely foster parents Pam and John at Valentine NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Bailey’s adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
