About Rosie ~ Cattle Dog x Shepherd (on trial 12/8/18)
Rosie is an approximately 1 year old desexed female Cattle X German Shepherd. She has the beautiful big long body, head, tail and ears of a German Shepherd with the gorgeous white and brown speckled coat of a Cattle Dog. She has energy for days but loves to nap on the lounge, wants to protect you and be near you but also wants to run along and play, loves playing with her foster brother but also will lay and play with a toy on her own which is adorable, and at the end of the day she will rest her big head on you and lap up the scratches!
At the ripe old age of one, Rosie was rescued from a rural pound with her litter of nine 4 day old puppies.
Since giving birth, Rosie has become incredibly fit and doesn't show any signs of having had pups other than showing that she has fed them.
Being a mother taught her to be protective and vigilant which means she at first can come off as contentious but when you gently approach her, she sniffs your hand, gives you a lick, eats treats out of your hand gently and will be giving you massive cuddles in no time! Once she gets to know you she will be an amazingly loyal friend and companion.
She loves playing with her foster brother and spends her time chasing him, playing tug of war and generally just loving being a puppy with another dog. She would not suit a home without small children, as she doesn't know her own strength and would likely knock them over. As she loves having the company of her foster brother, she would suit a home with another dog or with company throughout most of the day.
Rosie is an obedient dog. She knows all of the basic commands, will shake your hand, give you a high five, "go to bed", stay and wait for her dinner until she is told to eat and will come from a distance when called.
She is known in our house as "Rose Gold". She has such a genuine soul, just wants to love and be loved and shows that no matter what her short life has shown her, she is ready to be a fun loving pup that loves everyone and everything around her, as long as at first they give her the little bit of time and patience she needs to feel comfortable and at home. Rosie is worth her weight in gold in the love, companionship and laughter she will provide to you.
For more information or to meet Rosie, please contact her foster carer Hilary on hilary.leotta@live.com.au Rosie is in foster care in Newcastle area, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Rosie’s adoption fee is $450 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
