About Duke ~ Staffy x Great Dane (on trial 5/8/18)
Hi my name is Duke and I am an 18 month old Staffy x Great Dane. If you want a large doggy friend to cuddle and be a companion with, I am your man.
My favourite thing in the world is to have a good sleep, get up, have a cuddle, some food (I am pretty healthy and like fruit for a bit of brekky) and then a walk.
I do have an inquisitive nature and can be playful. I have hung around children before, supervised of course and I was really good with them but probably suit children over 5 years old just because of my size.
I like lots of attention so I would like someone home and not gone all day as I get lonely. I wouldn’t suit full time workers. I am happy to stay at home while you are out with a big bone and if you scatter some of my dry food around the yard I entertain myself sniffing it out.
I am good with other dogs at the dog park and like a play but because I like all the cuddles and attention I think I am best suited being by myself with my family. I just love hanging on the lounge with the fam. If you could find a spot inside for me to sleep that would be an added bonus. I am toilet trained.
I have basic training, I can sit, stay, come and shake but you know unless you have some great treats I might run off if you let me off lead. I am a big strong boy so a walking harness is a must. I could so with some extra training as I am still quite young and I am pretty smart.
I am not a problem barker but will let you know if someone is around.
I am a bit of a sook for a big boy and love a decent tummy rub so come and meet me.
Sharron is taking enquiries for me so contact her by texting 0423 331057 or send her an email: sstudley3@bigpond.com I live at Broke at the moment and I am available for adoption interstate.
Duke’s adoption fee is $350 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
