About Tim ~ 2 year old Kelpie X (on trial 7/8/18)
Meet Tim, the adorable Kelpie x. Tim is a lively and loving dog. Tim is around 2 years old and has a very loving, high energy and playful personality. Tim’s number one goal in life is to please his humans. He just wants to love and be loved. So much you could almost call him Romeo! He has quite the charm to match. Everyone who meets him falls instantly in love with his gentle nature and funny mannerisms. You will even notice he will crack a big “teethy” smile when he is happy and goofing around on his back!
Tim has quite a lot of energy to burn and he has a tendency to want to play a lot of the time. Tim loves to play tug, chasing and stalking games with his foster sister who is a small Kelpie x. As such, he would suit a family with another playful dog or he could be a single dog for a couple or family who is willing to play with him and walk or exercise him regularly (maybe twice a day). At the end of each day Tim will also snuggle at your feet or happily amuse himself with a chew toy while you sit on the lounge and he enjoys sitting at the entrance to the main bedroom at night (these are the rules he currently has in foster care, but would also be happy in a more relaxed home where he is allowed on the lounge etc.). Tim is thriving in an environment with rules and routines. He is very, very eager to please and will be no bother in these circumstances. If Tim gets too bored or is not exercised enough, he may go looking for things to find in the garden or around the yard. He is not a digger or chewer, provided you provide him with enough stimulating toys and chewable items to find around the place.
Tim has responded well to training and knows how to sit, stay, drop and wait for his food. Tim still gets a bit excited initially when walking or running on a lead but tends to settle into a nice rhythm after a little while. Tim will benefit from further training to learn how to walk at a suitable pace (heal) or he may benefit from a Halti-style harness.
Tim currently sleeps in his foster carers laundry with his two foster sisters and gets through the night with no problems.
Tim came into care after being surrendered from no fault of his own. Tim is fully toilet trained, is happy and fine in the house and knows how to use a doggy door.
Tim is a moderate shedding dog in the warmer months and a low shedder in the cooler months and potential adopters should be aware of this. He is a medium to large dog (about 18kg) so adopters might notice a very light “sprinkling” of black hair across your floor every few days.
Tim is a beautiful young dog with a heart of gold. He loves every human he meets and has been great with other dogs of various sizes, and young children. It is not known how Tim is around cats or other small pets, but he has only ever been loving and submissive towards any animal or person since being in care.
Tim must also go to a home with a secure yard and high-quality fences at least 6 foot high. Tim is in care at Cameron Park NSW and is available for adoption interstate. If you would like to apply to adopt Tim please complete the questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx and email it to Donna at Timmypebmilo@hotmail.com
Tim’s adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
