About Socks
Sox is a 2 year old black and tan beautiful Kelpie girl. She is an impressive dog with a great personality – confident, loving and very chilled, who rarely barks. She is a big strong girl who likes an off-leash run but also loves to snooze in her kennel or snuggle with her humans. If she would talk, she would say “you’re not that busy, patting me is the only thing that matters right now”.
Socks is house-trained, but needs supervision as she will get into things. During the day she is either outside in the kennel / yard or inside for a while when someone is home. She currently sleeps in a warm kennel outside as she was restless in a crate inside. Socks knows or is learning the following commands: “Off”, “Outside”, “In Your Bed”, “Sit”. She came to us with excellent recall and she enjoys a run at the dog park. She will benefit from some obedience training to teach her more.
Socks lives with a 10 y.o. boy and a teen, but as she is quite strong and still learning not to jump on people, so she would not be suitable around younger children right now. She is living on her own now but is reportedly calm around cats. She loves to run and play with the fast dogs at the park.
Sox is slowing down a little on the lead as she is learning that there are cool things to sniff, but she is still strong when she walks. A harness helps her walk better and a halter would be great.

OUR ADOPTION PROCESS
1. You see a dog you like.
2. Fill in our online adoption form by clicking here or on our website. Be sure to include any questions you may have on our adoption form. This form does not obligate you to adopt, it simply gives us an idea of your situation and needs.
http://farmdogz.com.au/adoption-application-form/
3. If your are successful, one of our volunteers will contact you to organise a meet and greet at your home and conduct a yard check at the same time.
4. Should all go to plan, you will be welcomed to start your 2 week trial period immediately. Adoption fee will be required to be paid at the beginning of the trial period.
During the 2 week trial period, should you decide that this dog is not for you, you are welcome to return the dog (the more notice the better, to ensure we have a foster carer available) and your payment will be retunded to you in full, within 3 business days of the return of the dog.
**PLEASE NOTE: WE ASK THAT YOU PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT US BEFORE FILLING IN OUR ONLINE ADOPTION FORM**.
We are a volunteer run organisation, who have their own jobs during the day, we don't have someone manning our phones 24/7, therefore cannot respond to all inquiries immediately. The fastest way to have your questions answered is to include it in the application form. This will speed up your application with us, and help us communicate with you faster.
Please be patient with us, as the unpredictable nature of rescue may prevent us from clearing all enquiries regularly.
