About Tara ~ Kelpie X (on trial 29/10/2018)
This pretty girl is Tara. She’s sweetness and light, all puppy eagerness and innocent mischief! She’s also an 8 month old Kelpie X and in case you can’t tell, her foster carers have fallen for her hard. It’s all kisses and cuddles and puppy prancing at Tara’s house!
This sweet, affectionate little girl needs a home where she is valued and can express her brimming joy in life. She takes just a little while to trust humans, and likes to take her cues from an older, wiser dog, so she’d be best in a home with another dog to be her bestie and mentor.
Tara will need high fences, and daily walks and runs to cater to those Kelpie drives, but once the exercise is done she’s a very calm dog and likes to lie around and snooze or chew on a toy.
Tara hasn’t been around many children yet, and has shown no tendency to be mouthy or jumpy, but they would need to be gentle with her as she can become scared or over excited at loud and rough play. So perhaps older children would be better.
Tara will chase cats and other little animals if they run away, but her training is underway to stop this bad habit! When Tara came into care she had never walked on a lead and the whole thing freaked her right out, but now in just a few short weeks it’s like she’s being doing it her whole life! Which means she’s excellent sometimes, and sometimes there are just too many distractions for a poor eight-month old pup to handle!
Tara will bring love, joy and lots and lots of puppy kisses to her forever home. So if you think your home and Tara need each other desperately please contact us. (Quickly, before she breaks her carer’s hearts …)
For more information or to meet Tara, please contact her foster carer Ellen on 0468655659 or ellen.foley55@gmail.com Tara is in foster care in Newcastle area, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Tara’s adoption fee is $500 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
