About Mara
Our dear little teacup (!) Seal Lynx Point Bengal, Mara is now taking expressions of interest!
Mara is 2-3 years old and extremely small for a Bengal (or an adult cat for that matter!) Mara is very shy, but also very loving and she is looking for a quiet, mature home with one or more existing, proven cat friendly cats to bond with, though she would be happy as an only cat as well.
Mara doesn’t have the extreme Bengal personality or energy levels, but she does love to climb and play and is quite agile. It takes Mara a bit of time to trust new people, but once she does she is all about pats and love. She is happy to be held and purrs her little heart out. Mara is moderately vocal in her home environment, but extremely vocal in transit! She hates carriers and traveling, but once she gets to her destination, she settles down.
Mara found herself an entire, unchipped, unclaimed stray from one of the pounds we work with and although they had made attempts to rehome her directly, due to a mild heart murmur no one wanted to give this stunning girl a forever home. Little did anyone know at the time that her heart murmur was the least of Mara’s concerns. It turned out she had a severe case of Pyometra (a life-threatening infection of the uterus). Thankfully our vet was on the ball and diagnosed Mara quickly. After a massive surgery to remove her enlarged and pus filled uterus, Mara has now fully recovered from her ordeal and is ready to start her forever life.
Mara will need a home that is willing to give her the time she needs to feel safe and secure. She will take some time to warm to her new people, but once she does, she will blossom in a loving and calm environment.
As far as maintenance goes, Mara is pretty easy; her sleek, silky coat needs very little attention, though she does has slightly weepy eyes at times that need a quick wipe.
Mara is in care in Wantirna South
Medical notes
Mara goes to her new home desexed, microchipped, flea and worm treated and current in vaccinations.
