About June Carter (CaV18-215)
Well hello there. Aren't I just the prettiest darn thing you ever did see?
My name is June Carter and I'm practically perfect in every way. I am an incredibly sweet, smoochy, gentle young lady who gets on with everyone I meet - dogs, cats, kids, you name it!
I found myself in the pound with my handsome brother Johnny Cash (he's been adopted now) and it was noticed by the rangers that I had 'a sore leg.' Once I made my way into foster care, I was checked out a bit further and some xrays showed just how much pain I was in - my whole knee was smashed but I had been hobbling around on it for so long that the bone was regrowing and remodelling itself in all the wrong ways. I didn't let on though and was just as sweet as ever despite my discomfort.
The vets considered surgery to repair the breaks but it just was out of the question so guess what? Now I'm a little hop-a-long with only 3 legs! It just makes me even cuter.
It's really super duper important that I am a strictly indoor-only cat for life because my lack of a back leg means that I am a bit slower and less agile and may be unable to get away from cars or unkind dogs or other risks outdoors. It's also going to be really important that my new family watches my weight and keeps me fit and trim so that there isn't too much strain on the joints in my remaining legs.
Aside from that though, I don't need any special care at all.
I've had a really eventful time and all I want is a warm and loving home to call my own.
If everything else hasn't been bad enough, I've got a little bit of a head cold at the moment too. That's not a big deal though, so just ask my foster carer for more info.
Please adopt me today, I promise you won't regret it!
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view one of our lovely animals. We love them all and we hope you will too.
If you would like to know more about an animal please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If it sounds like you and the furry creature are a suitable match then we will pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to meet them.
Once you have met the animal and wish to go further then we may organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure (dogs only). You can then take your new family member home on a 2 week trial and if you decide they are not suitable then you can return them.
If you are not sure how existing animals in your home might be affected, or you want a little extra time to get to know the nature of the animal, we may allow you to foster with a view to adopt.
