Hi! I am Darryl, and I keep being told how much of a special boy I am! I have no hearing and limited eye sight, when I came into care I was rather unwell. After a month of being in foster care being loved on and fed a proper nutritional meal, I have gained weight and I look nice and healthy!

When I first was brought into care I had separation anxiety, but thanks to my carers hard work and some medication from the Vet Behaviourist I now do really well when alone, however I will require a home with 6 foot fencing to be safe. I do much better with a calm doggy companion to keep me company but would be ok as an only dog if the humans were home a bit.

I get a bit worried about over exuberant dogs, if they are mellow and not in my face, I am happy to just chill out with them and before you know it, a great friendship will blossom and I allow myself to play and be a goof! I get a bit scared if they rush up in my face because I can't hear or see properly, its very scary! The ladies at AdoptADane have said that my home must be very experienced dog owners, someone who is home moreso than not, and without young kids because they can also startle me!

I am not a barker, I love the car! I haven't met any cats, so I am unsure how I would cope living with one, maybe some slow interactions would help me understand they aren't scary.

Overall, I am a big smoochy boy who loves my humans! I can't wait to have my very own humans!
Due to Darryls special needs both mentally and physically we will be quite strict with his new home.

He will need:
* STRICTLY 6 foot fencing
* Someone who will invest time working with my trainer
* Someone who will continue working with his Vet Behaviourist and continue on his medication for his anxiety (medication costs roughly $40/month).
* An owner who will not put him in busy and scary environments such as dog parks
* Someone who will invest in good quality diet for him
