About Banjo ~ Border Collie X (on trial 13/7/18)
Hi, my name is Banjo and I’m a beautiful 5 year old Border Collie x boy who just loves pats - I will nudge your hand when you stop!
I’m quite small for a Border Collie and such a sweetie. I would be best suited as either an only dog or with a family who has another relaxed/friendly dog as some full on dogs can stress me out. I am not currently living with children; however, I have met small children at events and I am good with them. I am currently living with 2 very energetic medium sized dogs and I do like to play and chase them sometimes, however when I’ve had enough I will happily find a comfy spot and just chill out.
I am happy to sleep inside or outside as long as I am warm and have some sort of shelter but I do like to come in for a cuddle and some human attention when my family are home.
I came from a pound and didn’t have a lot of contact with humans so I started off my time in foster care as being quite timid however I have managed to come out of my shell and play with the other dogs in my foster home and my human carers.
I am learning commands and toilet training and I am very good on a lead and won’t pull. Although I am doing very well, I am not used to being in a house so I need to be supervised when inside so I don’t have any accidents due to all of the different smells.
Although I have shown no interest in escaping I can jump pretty high (into the back of my foster dad’s Ute) so I would require at least 5-foot fencing just to be safe.
Even though I love human attention and I love walks, I am not super energetic like most dogs of my breed so I don’t necessarily need to go on long walks every day but I do like short walks and when left alone I will happily chill out and won’t bark or dig holes.'
For more information or to meet Banjo, please contact his foster carer Lauren on 0411429787 or lrporter204@gmail.com Banjo is in foster care in Cardiff, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
