About Paddy ~ Foxy x Jack Russell (on trial 6/7/2018)
Introducing Paddy, who is a desexed male short-hair mini Foxy x Jack Russell puppy and is white and tan in colour. His date of birth is 15/9/17 so he isn’t even 1 year old. He weighs about 4kg.
Paddy is the kindest sweetest little boy, and at a recent public barbeque and DRN event he was very friendly with people and dogs. He was not bothered by the nearby traffic sounds or motorcycle noises.
Sudden movements in the dark will make him anxious for a moment or two and he might bark at this.
He doesn’t appear to food orientated and eats his wet food slowly. He enjoys grazing on kibble left out all day for him. He only has a little tummy so he eats small amounts often.
Even though he is very gentle, due to his young age Paddy is a little jumpy when excited. Our 2yr old grandson doesn’t like him jumping up, so Paddy might have to be observed around very young children.
Paddy recently had a vet check up and has lovely clean teeth. Lots of raw bones will keep his teeth nice and healthy. As a puppy he does like to chew things to work his teeth, so lots of chewable toys and chew sticks are good for his teething.
He loves his daily walks very much, and he is very good on a lead. He is friendly when meeting other people and dogs and is quite submissive in play and greetings.
Paddy is not a digger, nor a jumper. In fact, he has little legs and finds it tricky just to jump on the lounge or our laps. He certainly can’t jump on our bed as it has a higher mattress. He does not require high fencing. He is very fast when he runs and has not been tested to return off lead.
Paddy is generally quiet most of the time, but he will bark to alert you to a visitor, or if someone walks past as he likes protecting his yard and territory.
When you meet him, you will fall in love with him. He has brown eyes that make you melt when he looks adoringly at you.
Paddy was sadly surrendered due to his owner relocating. He did live with another similar dog previously.
Paddy enjoys being inside mainly, with 24 hour access to the outside via a doggy door. He sleeps inside on his own blanket on the lounge, as he likes to be up high like most little dogs do. His toilet-training is ongoing.
Paddy would ideally suit a couple, or a single owner that would love a lap dog at night, Paddy would be good as an only dog, or with another small dog. He enjoys playing with the family’s visiting dogs especially if they are his size.
Paddy is currently in care in Lambton, NSW with a senior couple and is available for adoption interstate. For more information or to meet Paddy, please contact his foster carer Kathy on 0409319877 (text only) or kathyjones1961@hotmail.com
Paddy’s adoption fee is $500 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
