About Rosie 💛
This roly poly squishy little lady is an absolute delight to have in the household! Rosie is currently in care with her sister Georgia, 4 host dogs and a cat. She enjoys playing with her toys, her sister, and new friends. Rosie is full of energy and will greet you with leaps and bounds. She spends her days exploring, playing, and of course lots of napping (be prepared for some loud snoring). Rosie is affectionate and loves a cuddle with her humans, especially kids. She enjoys being both inside and outside and is doing very well with toilet training. While in care, Rosie has shown no food aggression and gets along well with both dogs and cats.
The Shar Pei breed is not for everyone, and certainly not for those who are looking at getting their very first puppy. They can have a very dominant temperament and require firm training from an early age. Puppy Pre-school is essential as the Shar Pei is a very stubborn breed and if not properly trained, can be difficult to manage. They are also territorial and extremely loyal to their owners.
If you welcome a Shar Pei into your life, understand that the breed is prone to certain dermatological problems. Skin issues may occur when skin in the folds of the wrinkles become irritated. Preventing skin issues involves frequent baths, as often as once a week. Brushing your dog daily and inspecting the coat and skin. Never let fleas get started - keep the Shar Pei on systemic flea control products year-round, so the little pests never get into those wrinkles. Feed high quality dog food, and keep their environment as clean as possible. That might entail washing their bedding every week and vacuuming the carpeting every few days, at minimum.
We would love to help get you started with training Rosie, so our amazing supporters, Best Friends - Erina, have kindly offered to include a 5 week Puppy training course with all of our Puppy adoptions (up to 16wks of age)....The Best Friends Puppy Pre-School service is a fun and interactive five-week training course that covers puppy behaviours, diet, health, grooming, exercise and play, with an emphasis on socialisation, command training, health and care. Their aim is to teach you positive ways to train your puppy in basic skills such as ‘sit’, ‘drop’, ‘stay’, and how to walk well on a lead, but also how to control your puppy’s not so desirable behaviours like toileting inside, biting, mouthing and separation anxiety.
Rosie will be ready to head off to her new home once her vet work is complete which we expect to be around mid July. Georgie is located on the Central Coast NSW.
Before enquiring, please research the breed.

Adoption details
If you would like to express interest in adopting, we ask that you send through some info about yourself, your family and home, if you rent or own (rental agreement required if renting and rates notice required if you own) and what you can offer one of these gorgeous pups. Our aim is to find the best homes for our babies, not necessarily first in best dressed, so a good detailed application will make you stand out from the rest.
Once we have received your email outlining the above, we will send you through an Adoption Questionnaire and then your enquiry will be passed onto the appropriate carer. Successful applications will be contacted via phone.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
