About Prince "Harry", Happily Ever After. Melbourne
Now that the human Prince Harry has found his soulmate, our canine Prince Harry thinks it must be his turn! Harry is just as handsome as his human namesake, and even more charming. He's a calm, affable gentleman, who greets everyone he meets (including other dogs) with a happy, wagging tail. Harry has princely manners around the house and on the lead, and walks nicely to heel. He's a quiet, low-energy sort of boy, who is happy with a couple of short daily walks followed by long periods of snoozing.
Harry will need to be an only dog as he will take time to understand he doesn’t need to guard every scrap of food. Harry is currently learning how to be an only dog – as he loves his people so much this is a work in progress.
He adores lots of affection from his humans (he'll poke his nose under your arm to remind you when it is cuddle time!) Besides humans, Harry's greatest love is food, and his foster carers have been teaching His Royal Highness not to be possessive of his food bowl. Harry prefers to sleep in his human's bedroom, as a member of the family, and will cry if he feels left out.
Harry is ok with children (six or over), getting better with small dogs off-lead, and not tested with cats. Greyhounds have been royal dogs since ancient times, and if you meet Harry, you'll understand why. Fortunately you don't have to be royal to welcome this gorgeous boy into your life - just warm-hearted enough to give a handsome prince the happily ever after that he deserves.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
