About Monty
Update.
Monty has to go back for more oral surgery this week. We are hoping this is the end to all his dental issues.
Monty is the sweetest boy that as ever come into my care.
He has had a hard life and he came into care in a pretty bad way but he has come along in leaps and bounds and is such a different boy than he was 4 weeks ago.
Monty came into care with extensive dental problems due to his jaw being broken and never fixed. His jaw can not be corrected as it would involve breaking it again and that is just not fair for him to go through now but he has had most teeth removed to make him more comfortable (due to terrible decay) and he is feeling much happier now.
Due to his dental history Monty will need to be kept on a raw food diet. This can be purchased from any good pet store. This is what he has been eating n care.

Upon arrival Monty would sit in the corner and watch his surroundings. I believe he has beena dog that was grossly mistreated and had little confidence but now he is first into the game with his foster dog/cat brothers and sisters and loves to fetch sock and dirty clothes that have been left on the kids floor, he is a mothers best friend (best part is he doesn't have enough teeth to destroy them he just plays with them).
He loves to sleep in the sun and play with his foster brothers and sisters (cat and dog). He loves hanging out with his humans too, so much so he will need a family that is home most of the time and he will need to be an indoor dog who goes out under supervision.
Monty is still having a little trouble with marking his territory in the house and this is going to have to be lovingly managed over time for him to not feel the need to continue this. It has decreased from many times a day to a few times a week in just a few short weeks so I am confident it will be resolved soon.
So what does Monty need?
He needs
- A loving home where his humans are home most of the time
- A doggie brother or sister and even maybe a cat sister or brother too
- Patience from his family to help him through his spraying
- 24/7 access to indoors
- Secure fences
- A raw diet
It's not much to ask. I think it is what all rescue dogs deserve
Monty is a beautiful dog and I only wish I could keep him for his remaining years but this is an opportunity for someone else to love him like we do.
Medical notes
Monty has had all but 3 of his teeth removed and is going to have to be on a diet to support his oral health. He has also has had to have his ears extensively cleaned out due to massive infections.
This has helped him and he is now a very happy healthy boy.
