About Moxi
ONLY COMPLETED APPLICATIONS WILL BE REPLIED TO - Please apply at http://www.startingoverdogrescue.org.au/adoption--expression-of-interest-form.html
Moxxi is a very sweet, cuddly American Staffy mix at just 16 weeks old. She came to us very timid and scared of her surroundings, and has been in foster care for 5 weeks to help her build confidence and learn that the world is not so scary.
At home, Moxxi is a typical happy, playful puppy. She gets along very well with our lazy bull terrier x collie and spends her days trying to make him play, getting as many cuddles from us as possible and sleeping. She is gentle with our 4 year old child although sometimes he is too loud and noisy for her liking so she will go to her crate where she finds comfort and security. She is fully crate trained and does find the crate as her safe space. We leave the door of her crate open during the day and she comes and goes as she pleases; she also sleeps in her crate happily through the night.
On lead, Moxxi is quite confident, happy to walk alongside you. She still gets startled by dogs barking and strangers but with positive encouragement will continue walking.
Ideally, Moxxi will be adopted by a family or individual who is calm, loving, patient and consistent with her. She will need ongoing training, daily walks and her new family will need to have a "firm but fair" approach. Although she is ultimately a timid girl, she will push her boundaries once she settles in to her new home (as any puppy would). She loves being with people and doesn't do well in loud/chaotic situations. In time she will gain more confidence once she's settled into her permanent home.
Moxxi is fully vet worked and has been: spayed, fully vaccinated from 1st puppy vaccination to C5, has had rear dew claws removed, and has been microchipped. She is currently being fostered with two adults, a 4 year old child and 6 year old dog in Werribee, Victoria.
