About Georgie ~ Shepherd x Ridgeback (on trial 8/7/18)
Stop the press, this amazing dog is up for adoption and looking for a new home! Georgie is a 6 year old Australian Shepherd x Ridgeback.
Georgie isn’t a big boy, around medium size and has the best temperament. He happily follows you around and will keep you company wherever you go. He is a devoted dog who will make a great companion for someone.
He is well trained, can sit, stay, come when called and loves nothing more than a snuggle on the lounge with you. He will shake hands and will gently touch your hand with his paw for a pat. Georgie is toilet trained and sleeps inside.
Georgie loves to go for a walk, he does tend to pull a bit so a walking harness would be a good idea.
Georgie isn’t suitable for a home with cats. He is good with other dogs while out walking and will happily have a play but we feel this boy is more suitable to keeping his owners company as just loves the attention so not necessary for him to have another dog as a playmate. Little dogs seem to unnerve him and he tends to bark at them.
Georgie has proven great with kids. Honestly this boy hasn’t got a mean bone in his body. He is such a gentle soul.
We think Georgie would be best suited to someone who is retired, semi retired, works from home or a family where there is someone home some of the time and happy to have Georgie inside with them to enjoy his company.
If you are interested in meeting Georgie his foster carer Kayne is located in Wickham. Sharron is taking all enquiries on 0423 331057 (text only) or email sstudley3@bigpond.com Georgie is available for adoption interstate.
Georgie’s adoption fee is $350 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
