About Sabina
Well hi there, my name is Sabina!
I was surrendered to Lort Smith as my carers could not afford the costs surrounding my hospital care and surgery. You see, I had an infection in my left hind leg, it was so severe that the specialist veterinarians could not save it. I ended up having to have my leg removed. Despite this, I am getting around wonderfully and coping pretty well despite now only having three legs.
My new guardians will have to work on getting me to a suitable weight and maintaining it. Otherwise it will effect on my other limbs, and may lead to bone issues and/or early arthritic changes.
I am a typical beagle breed, I can be quite stubborn at times. I think with my nose and I love smelling all of the wonderful smells. I would love to go to a new home where my new guardians will work on obedience and loose leash walking with me. I just love to learn and like any beagle, I do love my food!
A home where I can be inside and part of the family would be the best fit for me. I am great with children and other dogs, however I have never been around small animals.
I can go to a home with another dog, however that canine friend must have obedience and know how to play appropriately.
If you think I sound like the perfect fit for you, please call the Lort Smith Adoption Hub for more details - 9321 7240.
Medical notes
Weight loss required and then maintained to ensure extra pressure is not placed on remaining three limbs.
