About Buddy ~ 7 year old Foxy x (on trial 2/7/18)
Meet Buddy, a 7 year old Foxy x waiting to have all your attention. Buddy was very frightened and unsettled when he first came to us but has since settled in well.
Buddy has no trouble with other dogs his size and smaller, males or females. He has been fine around children both toddlers and teens. He greets you when you get home with a few barks but is generally quiet but gets very excited to see humans.
Buddy enjoys being outside but will usually follow his humans or other puppy friends wherever they go, and spends evenings and nights inside. He is sleeping in a teenagers room at the moment and would love to remain and inside dog that would be close to his human at all times.
Buddy walks well on a lead but is a bit jumpy around loud noises and cars close by and will look to his human for comfort. He travels well in the car. Buddy is not a fan of a bath but will tolerate it once the water is not running.
Buddy has responded well to training with food rewards as he is food driven and can be excited at meals times but has learnt very quickly the routine around meals. He has learnt to sit in a very short time and knows there is no treat until you sit. Buddy has been given tinned food, dry food, but mainly mince and veg (homemade) and has tolerated all.
Buddy had several incidents initially but has learnt to use the doggy door and our routine around toilet times and bed time. He may still have the occasional accident, but they are few and far between.
Buddy would benefit from being with someone who is home most of the time as he craves attention and needs to be close to you.
For more information or to meet Buddy, please contact his foster carer Renae on renaesnelgrove@hotmail.com or 0431034624. Buddy is in foster care in Ellalong, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Buddy’s adoption fee is $350 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
