About Dakota ~ 6 year old Staffy X (on trial 6/7/2018)
Introducing Dakota (AKA ‘Kota’), this gorgeous girl is a 6 year old Staffy x Mastiff. Kota is a gentle and loving lady who just wants to be around her family. been living around small dogs, older children and cats (although she is slightly terrified of cats).
You could not ask for a better best friend than this beautiful girl, she loves being inside around her people, but also loves to run around the yard at full speed! She enjoys her daily morning walk, getting pats from anyone and everyone she can, she is fully toilet trained and sleeps inside at night, she doesn’t bark or dig, isn’t anxious around storms, is not food aggressive or lead reactive and has so much love to give.
Dakota sits and stays for her meals and lays in her bed and when instructed, she occasionally jumps up and tries to have a cuddle but quickly sits when told – however you will need to watch any food you have around the kitchen bench tops as she is tall enough to stealthily steal tasty morsels when you aren’t looking!
Dakota makes little barking noises in her sleep whilst she dreams – it is ADORABLE!
She would love a family with older kids who want to have her around all the time – she needs to be an indoor/outdoor dog that gets regular walks and playtime at the park.
If Dakota sounds like she would make the perfect addition to your home – please send an enquiry to Jo at jo.delarue1@gmail.com Dakota is in foster care in Port Stephens area, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Dakota’s adoption fee is $250 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
