About Max
Please read carefully before enquiring about Max, an understanding foster home with a view to adopt is needed.
Max is a very sweet boy with a unique personality who is looking for a very specific type of home.
He is only young and will be a wonderful match for an energetic couple who have a lot of love and time to share.
Gorgeous Max has had quite a few moves which have all been very confusing for him, he also has some issues which we are working with the vets to diagnose and hopefully fix or at least make them manageable, we are happy to discuss this further with any potential foster/adoptive families.
He will be seeking an experienced, patient home where his people are willing to offer him the time he needs to feel comfortable and are willing to accept his little quirks as well as to work with us while we get his physical/mental issues sorted.
We have found Max a little hard to read at times. He can be a real goofball who loves his toys and chasing the ball but hasn't mastered the concept of bringing it back for you to throw it again so having 2 balls at playtime will be handy. Max goes through energetic spurts and playfulness and then decides he's had enough and wishes to be left alone. This is where an experienced person will get to know him and understand his language of letting you know.
Max is happy doing his own thing at times but also loves being with his people for pats, lots of belly rubs and most of all, company. He enjoys sharing the bed and sofa with his special humans and loves the security of them being close by. Max can cope with being alone for a few hours throughout the day and is happily entertained during this time with his Kong and lots of toys to keep him entertained. He will overjoyed when you return home and does not hesitate to show his excitement.
Whilst Max was with his previous family, he underwent obedience training and attempted socialization classes with other dogs but sadly, Max does not interact well with other animals so a home as an only pet will be a MUST. Visits to dog parks and places with other pets will NOT be an option for this boy and a home where these expectations will be put on him will not be suitable.
A home with older children/grandchildren will be the best fit for Max. He likes to have his personal space and can become overwhelmed by too much noise and unpredictable situations. He is only small and is easily frightened by things he doesn't understand. This is when he relies on his people to move him to a place where he will once again feel safe and protected.
Max is a lovely boy who will be extremely happy in the right home. All he needs is a place to feel safe and loved to bring out the best in him. He wants nothing more than to be a special companion in someone's life. He is content to spend time outdoors and enjoys a good run in the yard but is best suited to a home with a mostly indoor lifestyle so his family are close by.
Max is fully toilet trained and will stand by the door, giving you a hopeful look when he needs to go out.
Secure fencing and gates will be important as Max is only small and we will easily fit through gaps. He is not as escapee but it will take him some time to understand that your home is not also his home.
Max is only looking for a foster home at this stage but we will be happy to consider adoption if all goes well for Max and we believe this is the perfect place for him to call home.
Please feel free to contact us with any further questions you may have about Max and we will be in touch to discuss things shortly.
Max is currently in care in Mount Waverley, Victoria
Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
