Bucket

Hi my name is Bucket, or you can call me Mr. Bucket I don't mind 😊 My foster carers even call me Mr. Magoo or a scallywag sometimes because I love getting cuddles and try squeeze into any nook and cranny for a snuggle.

I may be larger than a medium sized dog but I feel as small as a terrier and love curling into balls on the sofa or try fit into a small bed even if I look awkward at times (as you can see in my pretty pictures). I absolutely love going on walks, I get so excited beforehand and I feel so happy when we return back home, however I sometimes get a little excited coming up to some trees on the side-walk but I am very responsive when you tug my harness a little. I really enjoy chewing my toys, my favourite is my plastic bone. Unfortunately, I don't have much experience with balls, but my foster doggy sister Ginger is teaching me how to fetch and return items to you and I am learning this skill.

I am very adaptable to my environment, I can be very active or very snuggly depending on your mood for the day. I also tolerate a lot of stubbornness from Ginger, so I am suitable for a range of families. At first I was a bit nervous of car journeys, but now after plenty of journeys with my foster family I feel comfortable on short and longer rides especially if you roll the window down a little for me, so really you can take me anywhere!

I know basic house-manners and I feel okay being left alone but I can give such sad eyes you won't like to leave me. I also understand how to sit and shake my paw for a delicious treat, I love carrots FYI! I feel okay when you shower/bath me and I tolerate the hairdryer too to get lovely and dry to be an indoor doggy and sit on the sofa again (I've been lucky enough to not shed a lot of hair). When you meet me at the shelter you might think I am like a Disney character because I have an extra spring in my step when I doddle and my facial features are quite unique to the size of my body.

I can't wait to meet my forever family to enjoy the rest of my life snuggling, walking, and being a loyal companion.

Please note all of our dog meet and greets occur at the adoption center in Campbellfield. The majority of animals are in a foster home not at the shelter.
