About Baron and Blondie ~ Corgis (on trial 6/7/18)
This bonded pair of mature age male and female Pembroke Welsh Corgis have come into foster care after a lifetime in the show ring. They are 10 years of age and in first class health and condition. In addition to a very successful show ring history, Baron has also served as a stud dog for breeding purposes. He has only recently been desexed.
There are genuine reasons for their surrender. We believe they have received only the best of treatment throughout their lives and are a close knit pair. Neither one moves far without the other.
Baron and Blondie are friendly and quiet by nature. They are presently living with another four foster dogs and although initially a little aloof from these other pack members are slowly coming to accept them. Neither dogs show any aggression and are friendly toward other dogs and toward humans.
They appear well house trained and since arrival have had no “accidents”. They have a healthy appetite; probably in the recent past, perhaps “too healthy”. Admirers of the breed will know that Corgis have a tendency to gain weight easily and this pair is no exception. Both dogs could do with a more strict diet regime. They are not small dogs. Baron weighs 21 kgs and Blondie a little less. A good weight loss programme should be on any new owners “things to do” list. They do not seem to experience any serious health problems.
A regular walking routine, morning and afternoon would be considered essential. The pair are good walkers, do not “pull”, and take an inquisitive and healthy interest in all the doggy smells they come across on their various walking routes. They are not “barkers” and will not annoy any neighbours.
Initially a little remote, both dogs are now coming to enjoy their human interaction and are beginning to look for their share of cuddles and attention. Because of their size, the pair could not really be termed “lap dogs” but who knows?
And yes, this the same breed that her Majesty our good Queen Elizabeth has been associated with almost all her life. So, if Corgis have been good enough for the Queen’s home, are these two homeless waifs good enough for yours?

(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
