About Benny ~ Red Cattle Dog (on trial 12/11/18)
This is Benny! Benny boy is a absolutely gorgeous 3 year old Red Cattle Dog who is on the smaller side of a medium sized dog. Benny is a SUPER affectionate and lovable boy who is looking for a for a forever home.
All Benny wants in life is some cuddles. He loves nothing more than a scratch on the belly, and has a hilarious way of giving you a nudge with his paw when he wants one. His fur is extremely soft, so good for patting!
Benny gets along well with his foster brothers and sisters, and is often found in the yard running around and chasing them.
Wait … Do you mean, outside by choice? When we are home? YES!
And sometimes can be found cuddling with them on a chilly morning. Often though, he is happy in himself and will just hang around on the floor beside the lounge or watching you cook in the kitchen. Benny would be happy as an only dog as long as he is walked and socialised often, and is not left alone for long periods of time.
Benny is fully toilet trained, but may mark when first introduced to your home, as male dogs do! He picked up the dog door very quickly and is happy to come and go when he feels the need.
We’re not sure of Benny’s story, and came into care without any history. So we have started from scratch with this handsome boy. He is responding to training well, but will need someone to teach him some more obedience skills. For starters he is still being taught that his name is Benny!
In saying this, we have not seen any destructive behaviours with Benny. He hasn’t shown any tendencies of digging, escaping, chewing or excessive barking but he will let you know when he is locked outside! ‘Hey human! It’s cold out here! Let me in!’
He would be happy in a family with older children as he is learning that mouthing is for his dog friends only and not for humans.
Benny is not a puller on the lead so is a pleasure to take on walks and quite calm when going on drives.
In all, Benny will be an easy going mate after a little extra training. As long as you give him a good walk each day, a nice meal of an evening and some cuddles in the night, he will be happy.’
For more information or to meet Benny, please contact his foster carer Jonathan on jjdwaugh@gmail.com Benny is in foster care in Charlestown, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Benny’s adoption fee is $400 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire: https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two-week trial begins on the day of adoption.
