About Ruby
Hello there, my name is Ruby and I am a sweet, intelligent girl looking for a new chance at life.
I came into care after I was surrendered with my two puppies Ebony and Ivory. When I came into care I was very scared and timid. I am still not the bravest girl, but my confidence has grown since being in care. The vet says I am only about two years old, so only a baby myself and have my whole life ahead of me.
I have a lot of love to give and I am very loyal, I am just desperate to be apart of a family and have someone love me. I am very kind and gentle and get a long with all dogs. I live with some very annoying puppies at the moment yet I am so caring and patient to them - there isn't a bad bone in my body.
I get really excited when my foster humans come home and I do this cute little dance, so my nickname is Happy Feet. I try to play with the other dogs, but I don't exactly understand how to, even though I try really hard. I like to run with the dogs but I don't understand balls or ropes. I do not dig, chew or do anything naughty at all.
I spend my days outside with the other dogs and I sleep inside in a dog bed at night. I am a very good clean girl. I am house trained so no accidents at night and I sleep without a single noise.
I live with cats and while they do scare me a bit, I am not too fussed with them as long as they leave me alone. I've also been around tiny humans and I am very gentle with them.
I would love a calm, quiet family that will include me in their everyday lives. I would love daily walks and for an active family to take me on adventures and come outside and play with me, as well as let me inside to be a part of the family. I am sweet, gentle and absolutely beautiful, and my foster family says I deserve the best of the best <3
Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following: real estate approval, fence repair if needed, outside shelter areas and look into the dog's breed dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed.
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applications may meet the dogs. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the dog at your home, or in a public place. If you have other animals they must be at the meet.
If at the meet, you and the dog get along- you have the option of either taking the dog on the spot (in exchange for the full adoption fee paid upfront, and contract signed)- or placing the dog on hold for up to 2 days without any holding fee applicable. When adoption begins you will be provided with 7 days' worth of food for the dog, as well as what brand and type of food it is, so that you may change their diet carefully and slowly, or purchase more, if needed.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold dogs for 3 days or longer, without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the dog, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters and so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit non refundable to avoid time-wasters, especially when it comes to puppies under 5 months of age. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the dog. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you pay a $100 holding fee so we can hold the dog for a week- the day you collect the dog you will sign and adoption contract, and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
On commencement of the trial period, OTC will send you a copy of your signed contract, the vaccination cards, desexing certificate and microchip number implant details.
