About Bindi **Adoption Pending**
Hi there, my name is Bindi!
Bindi is a sweet, funny, dainty little thing who loves nothing more than cuddles, tummy/chest scratches and spending time with her family. She is also a huge fan of car rides, walks on the lead and loves a good zoomie when caught up in the joys of playtime.
Bindi’s sweet little crooked smile is the result of being born with a severe cleft pallet, which does mean she requires a little extra care when it comes to meal and drink time, however she is definitely well worth it!
She is often praised by both friends and strangers alike for her lovely demeanor and good manners although she can occasionally be timid with newcomers, especially young men, however she quickly warms up when she realizes that pats and cuddles are on offer and has no issues with spending time alone with people she has only just met.
She is housetrained although an eagle eye will be required to ensure her subtle signs of wanting to be let out are picked up as she is only a baby (roughly 7 months) and has yet to master the art of boldly asking to go to the toilet.
Barking is not an issue of hers, however she will occasionally warn her family of strangers and unusual noises with small, soft gruffs and the odd yap should she be caught unaware by something that has given her a fright.
As Bindi loves company and playtime, we strongly believe she would thrive in household where family members are often at home and ideally other relaxed, well behaved dogs are around for socialization and companionship.
This little girl is such a pleasure and is sure to bring love and joy wherever she goes. Bindi is located in Everton Hills, QLD.
Dog Friendly: Yes, although can become overwhelmed by boisterous dogs.
Cat Friendly: Not tested
Child Friendly: Not tested
House trained: Yes, although is still a baby so will need guidance.
Separation Anxiety: No, although is still a baby and would thrive with companionship.
Indoor/outdoor dog? Both
Medical notes
Bindi will be desexed, vaccinated & microchipped.
Bindi was born with a cleft palate, this is a congenital split in the roof of the mouth. Bindi has seen multiple vets and it was decided the best course of action is to leave the palate as is. Bindi can still eat, drink and play without issues so surgery is not required. Bindi does require a special diet and aerial hand feeding is best for her. (She can eat normally but this makes it a lot easier for her). She also does require supervision when playing with toys to ensure nothing gets stuck in her cleft - it will be important for potential adopters to frequently keep an eye on the cleft. Bindi is very agreeable with mouth checks and use to them now. Bindi is not on any medication or veterinary treatment currently.

ADOPTION:
To meet, adopt or find out more details on this animal, please fill in our adoption application at our website- http://www.safehavenanimalrescueinc.com
Completing this application form does not place you under any obligation to adopt.
Safe Haven Animal Rescue Inc have a 10 day trial/settling period, if for any reason the pet needs to be returned, we will happily take them back into our care once a foster home is found and the adoption fee minus $50 (admin fee) will be returned via bank transfer within 5 working days. If the pet is returned after the trial period there will be no refund made.
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. An Adoption application MUST be filled out prior to the meet and greet with the animal.
2. 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place. You must bring your current dog along to the meet and greet if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption. If meeting a cat we do not recommend brining your current dog/cat as this may stress the cat/kitten out.
3. The animal MUST not be taken on the day unless PRIOR ARRANGED (travelling over a 2 hr round trip), we will NOT ACCEPT the animal to be taken on the day if less then 2 days notice is given. If prior arrangement is made, an adoption agreement/s and payment must be made before collection of the animal.
4. 10 day trial period commences once the animal has been collected from foster carer.
5. Adoption is finalised after 14 days and paperwork is sent via email.
Sorry we can’t take calls, as our rescue is run entirely by volunteers, but we endeavour to respond to your email within 24 - 48 hours. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
