About Sammy ~ 11 year old Poodle (on trial 14/6/18)
This is Sammy an 11 year old female Standard Poodle. She may be crossed with another breed. Sammy is in her senior years but she is still very active and playful. Her general health is very good.
Sammy is a beautifully natured dog who loves her pats and her coat being brushed. She weighs about 25kg and has quite a bit of strength. She loves to go for walks but can pull on her leash and be reactive at times. This beautiful old girl would be suited to a home as an only dog or with another dog similar in size.
Sammy is an inside dog but can be left unattended outside for short periods during the day. She loves to lie in the sun and chew on her bones. Sammy travels well in cars and she slept all the way during an 8 hour journey.
Sammy’s hair is starting to grow back nicely. She had to have all her coat clipped back to bare skin due to the state of neglect she was in when taken into care.
Sammy is just the gentlest dog who does not have a mean bone in her body. Sammy needs someone to love and care for her in her senior years. In return you will get a true loyal companion who will look at you with her big brown eyes with unconditional love and trust.
For more information or to meet Sammy, please contact her foster carer Kay on kaystarr1@hotmail.com Sammy is in foster care in Mayfield, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Sammy’s adoption fee is $250 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
