About Lucy ~ Border Collie x (on trial 23/6/2018)
Lucy is a gorgeous white/ light caramel coloured 4 year old Border Collie X. She came into care quite recently after being at the pound for who knows how long. She was quite timid and shy being around a much younger male Kelpie X. Lucy has been very tolerable of him so far. She has since opened up quite a lot and has started to initiate play.
Lucy would be great around young children as she doesn't zoom around with lots of energy. She is a calm dog who is very much human orientated. Lucy has not been around cats or pocket pets since coming into care.
Since coming into care Lucy has progressed very quickly in her training. She will comfortably sit and understands on your bed but will need gentle reminders for shake, stay, no and wee wee.
She is still finding her feet so we are unsure of all the things she likes. One thing for sure is that Lucy loves her belly rubs, once you start you can't stop or she'll keep coming back for more. An ideal home would be where Lucy has another friend to keep her occupied and if this is not available Lucy would like to have parents who do not work full time. Lucy will be available to meet her potential new family once she recovers from desexing.
For more information regarding Lucy, please contact her foster carer Jasmine by email, drn.jasmine@gmail.com Lucy is in foster care in Warabrook, NSW 2304 (Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Lucy’s adoption fee is $400 and she will be desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
