About Zimmer
Ever had that one dog that could just reach in and feel your soul? Zimmer holds this magic!
He is at peace spooning in bed with you and resting his head on your pillow. With this being said he has been trained to only hop up with invitation. He is very versatile and will sleep in a crate or on the dog bed.
Zimmer is only very fine framed young man with stunning features. His ears stand out and they listen well. His coat is now full of shine and condition is improving every day with his high quality diet.
When Zimmer came into care he had a lack of socialisation and didn’t understand engagement with humans. Now he enjoys playing with canine friends. He is still learning that barking is not the best manners during play, so will need owners to continue reinforcing good play styles. In his training sessions he is improving like a super star. His training consists of all engagement work. His ‘place’ is now coming along great, always with his eyes on you. His sit is very alert, his chest pushed out so proud and you just rise too when you see his determination to stand out.
Zimmer is very responsive to ‘free’ and ‘stay’ commands. His training has been dedicated to confidence building and teaching him how to respond in different environments and what the expectation of behaviour is.
He spent ANZAC day playing two-up at the pub and was so perfect laying quietly under the table. Mothers day he came along for a walk through a major family picnic park, followed by lunch at a café where again his patience was on point! He was the Fetching Dogs mascot at Camden Paws in the Park festival. He met 100 dogs and did fantastic meeting all the new people. While foster mum had to work the stall he slept the rest of the day away in a crate, ignoring the party outside. He is the perfect student, once he has been shown how to behave in an environment, he will not let you down.
Zimmer still shows moments of anxious behaviour when leaving his humans but settles down within a minute of remembering it is customary. He started off very underweight, which ultimately has developed into a food guarding to fellow dogs. This has improved but cant be rushed. He now can eat kibble next to other dogs and received high quality treats during training. He shares his training time with the holidaying cat and is a perfect gentleman around the cat. He does confidence training around horses too and is happy to ignore them.
He loves his bush walks, and exploring on the weekends. The moment you open the front door he runs to the car ready for the trip to the next adventure. He will thrive in a home that will involve him. German shepherds were designed to be companions and that is where he is most fulfilled. During the day while his foster mum is at work he enjoys playing in the water wading pool and playing with his foster siblings. We will be looking for a family with the understanding or willingness to understand dog behaviour, ideally German Shepherd experience. You will need another dog at home for company or someone home most days.
He is a very amazing puppy that will need a family committed to enforcing all the manners he has learnt and offer stability for his future. Oh and most important is love and affection as every man deep down feels good being smothered with kisses.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
