Jet

Jet is a big goofy boy who craves love and attention. Jet was surrendered to a shelter extremely overweight (47 kg!!!!) and with a very matted and unkept coat. With a good diet and some exercise has already lost 9 kg and after receiving a VIP treatment at Happy Husky Grooming he is now looking like the beautiful dog he is!

Jet is a nice boy and the poor condition he was in shows that he didn't come from a family that understood his breed or cared for him appropriately. He is very playful and loves tossing his toys around. He has not had much in the way of training and pulls on the lead, but he loves going on his walks and settles after a while. He has lived as an outside dog, so he will need to learn how to live as an inside dog as well.

Jet can be quite dominant so he would be suitable as an only dog or with a submissive female canine partner, and will require a Husky experienced home with children to be in their teens or older. We would consider an application with a cat, but please aware that the dog & new cat integration will be a slow and gradual process, and there is no guarantee that he will accept a new cat as part of the family.

As with any normal Husky, Jet will need a secure yard of a reasonable size with dig-proof fencing at least 6 foot high. With Huskies having a high prey drive and a tendency not to come when called if there is something more interesting to investigate, Jet can never be walked off lead.

Apart from carrying a few extra kilos Jet is in good health, but he will need his new owner to provide a good exercise routine and sensible diet to help get him back to his correct weight.
