Kelsey Update -FINE WITH A CAT - Kelsey is coming out of his shell. His carer says he is a pushy little rapscallion and totally adorable, great with the cat too!! He is good with his new friend Bobby but a little too pushy and needy so he does have to look for a permanent home, either with a dog that will be fine with that or on his own. He is showing he did have a good home at some point in his life, he chases and brings back a tennis ball, leaps around trying to track some scent of possum, and doesn't rush through the front door to get out. He just loves attention so much. He is marvelous in the car. House trained. He loves sitting on a knee being patted until he curls up asleep on a blanket. He ignores the cat. He does bark at dogs in the park. He is smart and perfect for someone who wants a snuggler who is very amusing to watch and play with
Kelsey's life hasn't always been an easy road, but he hasn't given up hope of a finding a loving family to call his very own. Because of his tough life it's hard to know his age but the vet has guessed 7 to 10.
A friendly boy of 6.5 kgs, all he wants is to be in your company and is more than happy to sit quietly in the same room.
He doesn't understand commands all that well, but is quite food motivated so some dedicated time spent with this beautiful boy will see him thrive.
A home possibly with another dog would be good for Kelsey, but most importantly he will want to be able to spend time with you for most of the day.
We look forward to getting to know this amazing dog better and will keep you updated as Kelsey begins the exciting new chapter of his life. For these updates please go to http://www.victoriandogrescue.org.au/dogs-for-adoption/kelsey-maltese.html

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer a six-week full refund, free assistance for six weeks for any issues, and a lifetime takeback policy with a fifty percent refund of the adoption fee, and of course an invitation to our adopters’ Christmas party.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
