About Tonka
Tonka aka tonka truck is a beautiful dog very affectionate and loves a kiss. He is between 12-16months.
Great with training. House trained now, sits, drops, shakes hands and army crawls - always comes when called around the house but that’s not very often as his always by your side and likes to be around you. Off the lead at the dog park he is getting better and coming back. He still gets caught up with the bushes... yes more interested in bushes than other dogs.
Tonka likes to meet other dogs but is not overly interested in playing unless it’s another kelpie, would rather sniff around.
happy to snuggle up on the floor or couch with you once he feels comfortable and will often get a sneaky kiss on you.
-Loves people and has won some hearts in our apartment and also at work.
Fast learning in lead training, He does like to go to every bush on a walk but is improving each day at not always stopping.
He is just a gorgeous happy dog.

OUR ADOPTION PROCESS
1. You see a dog you like.
2. Fill in our online adoption form by clicking here or on our website. Be sure to include any questions you may have on our adoption form. This form does not obligate you to adopt, it simply gives us an idea of your situation and needs.

3. If your are successful, one of our volunteers will contact you to organise a meet and greet at your home and conduct a yard check at the same time.
4. Should all go to plan, you will be welcomed to start your 2 week trial period immediately. Adoption fee will be required to be paid at the beginning of the trial period.
During the 2 week trial period, should you decide that this dog is not for you, you are welcome to return the dog (the more notice the better, to ensure we have a foster carer available) and your payment will be retunded to you in full, within 3 business days of the return of the dog.

We are a volunteer run organisation, who have their own jobs during the day, we don't have someone manning our phones 24/7, therefore cannot respond to all inquiries immediately. The fastest way to have your questions answered is to include it in the application form. This will speed up your application with us, and help us communicate with you faster.
Please be patient with us, as the unpredictable nature of rescue may prevent us from clearing all enquiries regularly.
