About Lulu
Introducing Lulu, a Cattle x Bulldog mix. This sweet girl arrived in care at just 7 weeks old, along with her 5 litter mates. Lulu is currently being fostered in a home with 2 litter mates, 1 host dog, 3 host cats, 6 chickens and of course, her humans (which includes 3 older kids). She is still learning how to play fetch and doesn’t mind a good game of tug-of-war. Lulu has been curious about the host cats but isn’t interested in them but she loves the chickens who have become her friends. She’s a lovely little girl who enjoys lots of cuddles and adores her soft toys and hot water bottle.
Lulu sleeps next to her host dog and litter mates, with a hot water bottle and coat in the garage, and is learning the routine in her foster home. At this stage, no formal training has been introduced but basic commands will be introduced shortly. We believe Lulu is a fast learner and would love the challenge of ongoing training. Lulu has shown no food aggression or dominance while in foster care.
Cattle dogs are loyal, smart and high energy dogs. If you're looking for a lounge lizard, this breed is not for you. They are protective of their family and need to be socialised with other dogs and people from a young age. They are also great family dogs and love to play interactive games like fetching a tennis ball or catching a frisbee. Cattle dogs also tend to nip when playing, so a firm, consistent leader is necessary for training, otherwise this breed will rule the roost!
We are looking for a family or person who is willing to put in the time and effort with training and socialisation for Lulu. She would need continued socialisation with other dogs during the puppy stage and into adulthood, as well as ongoing training so that she grows up to be a well mannered and socialised girl. We believe that Lulu will be a medium dog when fully grown.
We would love to help get you started with that, so our amazing supporters, Best Friends - Erina, have kindly offered to include a 5 week Puppy training course with all of our Puppy adoptions (up to 16wks of age)....The Best Friends Puppy Pre-School service is a fun and interactive five-week training course that covers puppy behaviours, diet, health, grooming, exercise and play, with an emphasis on socialisation, command training, health and care. Their aim is to teach you positive ways to train your puppy in basic skills such as ‘sit’, ‘drop’, ‘stay’, and how to walk well on a lead, but also how to control your puppy’s not so desirable behaviours like toileting inside, biting, mouthing and separation anxiety.
Lulu is booked in for desex on Wednesday 6th June, so will be ready to head off to her new home from Saturday 9th June. Meets can be organised prior to this....Lulu is located in Berkeley Vale, on the Central Coast, NSW.
