About Marley ~ Rottweiler x Maremma (on trial 9/6/18)
Marley is a 2.5 year old Rottweiler X Maremma female. Through no fault of her own she has ended up in care with Dog Rescue Newcastle but she is a loving, happy, bundle of energy and yet still somewhat of a lap dog! With no known food allergies and a very gentle, polite eater with zero signs of food aggression.
Marley has been in our care for a short while and has yet to show any long term behavioural issues. She is highly motivated by positive reassurance as opposed to food. Marley is housetrained and knows her basics like sit, stay, wait, down, back, come and we’re working on shake! Some ongoing basic training, a patient family, and Marley will flourish in a home where she is welcome inside when someone’s home and to snuggle on the lounge. She especially loves a cheeky bedtime cuddle.
Marley is an incredibly affectionate and sweet natured girl who loves nothing more than being in her foster parents presence or playing around with her toys and bigger foster brother. Marley hasn’t been tested around children as yet, or any animals other than her foster brother, but her nature suggests she’s inquisitive and not reactive.
Marley can at times be a little unsure of her temporary home so she loves to get cozy under the bed. Splayed out legs is a cute relaxation trait of hers too.
She’s been to the park for fetch a couple times but she mostly loves to sniff and appreciate the excitement her foster brother gets from chasing the ball. She does love squeaky toys and plush ones she can destroy! The best part is she hasn’t once chewed anything not supposed to be chewed because Marley is a real darling!
While Marley doesn’t bark consistently she does demonstrate Rottweiler characteristics when there’s a strange noise. Mostly the noise is playful and chatty. She loves to converse with you, the way maremmas have been known to do, and she will let you know when it’s time for cuddles!
Marley’s ideal home is one where she can be shown the ropes with an older patient companion OR even be the queen of the castle on her own. Daily walks are a must due to her breed and she will need ongoing lead training. Marley stays outside during the day and is allowed to sleep inside at night, near her family, as that is what brings her joy.
For more information or to meet Marley, please contact her foster carer Jodie on Jodie.foyster@gmail.com Marley is in foster care in Lake Munmorah, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Marley’s adoption fee is $350 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
