Hi my name is Sophie and I’m a super adorable 13-week-old pure female Great Dane. As you can imagine I am still learning my way around, especially my legs. I am a bit of a klutz; I fall over a lot. I am still learning not jump with excitement when I meet new people – I just love them so much. My foster mum is working on this with me, but I will need some more help to help set my new skills in concrete. I absolutely love other dogs, the bigger the better. P.S. I already think I’m a big dog. I haven’t met any small dogs yet, although a little birdy told me I will get to soon if I’m not adopted out super-fast! Little fluffies shouldn’t be an issue though, I have already grown to love playing with my foster kitty sister. I have pretty good leash skills, however these will develop under your guidance and training as I get older. I already know how to sit and drop, but I’m working on more skills. I love my food, my toys and my pats so I’m easily motivate to work, but I’m also easily distracted as us puppies are … wait … was that a mail man?
I’m working on my toilet training and house skills, I have a few accidents here and there but have learnt that taking myself outside = treats and pats, so I’m getting better. As a young puppy, it’s my one skill I need to have consistency with I my new forever home. I haven’t met any chickens or farm animals, but like cookie dough I’m pretty malleable in my young age, so if you introduce me right I will grow to love them. Did you say car? I’m in! I love a good trip, either to the pet shop or off to a park, buckle me in and I’m ready to go where ever you are. I’m still working on my crate training. If you are not home, I like to have a furry friend to keep my company. I cry when left all alone on my own, so a fur brother or sister or an at home human would bring me lots of joy. I am left at home anywhere from 3 to 8 hours while my foster mum is at university. I stay inside in the crate for short times and outside in the yard with my foster brother and sister for long times. It’s great! I love to play with them. Like any puppy I can get up to mischief, hopefully my new home has lots of enrichment toys that they can put treats in, that way I can keep my puppy teeth and paws busy and out of trouble. I don’t have any resource or food guarding issues and am happy to share everything I have. I even share a bed. My foster mum tried to keep me inside in my crate to sleep but I screamed the roof off. She thought I might have needed to toilet so she took me outside and I jumped right into the outdoor undercover bed with my foster brother and sister. I didn’t make a peep, and that’s where I prefer to sleep. However, I have also claimed the couch as my day bed. I hope you don’t mind sharing new family, because you’re going to lose a few seats on your couch when I get big. Maybe I should re-phrase that, I hope you like sharing because there won’t be much room for you on MY couch hehe. I live in a yard with 6 foot fencing, but make sure all fences are close to the ground because I can slither under gaps like a snake, I do it at my foster mums house in the internal fences.
Treats, who doesn’t love a good treat. I love everything from dehydrated chicken necks and kangaroo through to peanut butter and green lipped muscles. I hear puppy school is fun, taking me to a training course like this would be amazing for my socialisation and getting my basic skills down pack. Hope to hear from you soon – apply today and make me part of your forever home!
