About Tabitha
Tabitha is a lovely little dog who came to us with her brother and another puppy. They had been being cared for in a remote community by a local worker before arriving for rehoming. Tabitha is growing into a lovely, sweet natured playful little dog who tries very hard to do the right thing. She really enjoys human company and often leaves her play with the other dogs to come over for a quiet pat. Out on walks she is mostly off lead and stays within range of her human while enjoying a bit of exploring. She comes back readily when called and is learning to walk on the lead nicely. Like all pups she loves puppy play and her toys, but she also loves to curl up in a cosy dog bed and have a long sleep.
She was born in the remote South Australian Community of Fregon on the APY lands. Unfortunately it became obvious that she had a clotting disorder when she was de-sexed, and testing indicated that she had eaten rat bait. She has been fully treated for that over a month and that problem is now resolved. Tabitha would be a great loyal companion, but would also fit well into a family situation, having grown up in an environment where there are lots of people of all ages and other dogs too.
Our rescue and rehabilitation work happens in Central Australia, but because of the scarcity of adopters locally, our re-homing operation is in South Australia. Tabitha's adoption fee includes crate hire, courier transport by road from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs, and a direct flight from Alice Springs to Adelaide. Tabitha is currently in foster care in Elliott NT.
