About Hunny (is sweet)
Hunny is a sweet little lady of not quite three years of age.
She is shy but her confidence is growing with each and every day. Her basic obedience is great but she can be stubborn when she wants to be. Hunny now walks on a lead with a collar and enjoys her walks. If she is off leash she mostly stays close by and when she wanders off for a sniff at all the good smells will promptly come to you with a huge smile on her face.
Hunny loves to be inside (being a predominately inside dog) and is gradually getting used to being outside to do her business on her own (this morning she went with Lucy to empty out and came back to the door an hour later, my Lucy was wanting to come in - this is real progress). She wees on command and will do it as many times as you tell her, LOL. She is fully house trained and loves to go in the car for short and long trips.
She will be a lovable and faithful companion for any family and I am sure that the first that come to see her will want to adopt her. The adoption may take some time for her to ensure that she knows you prior to leaving with her new family. This would preferably be over a few hours for you to get to know her and her to get to know you.
She does like cats and is friendly with my resident cat without ever chasing her. She has been tested with other dogs and at my house she has been very good. When we went away, so in a strange place she was unsure of, she met other dogs who were friendly with her and eventually she became friendlier with them. She was not nasty, just shy.
If you wish to meet our little Hunny then please contact me.
Medical notes
Hunny has a small umbilical hernia, this has been checked by a vet and found to be harmless and small enough to be left alone. I checked the hernia yesterday, as I do every day, and it was not out, so with time and a healthy weight I am sure this will go.
She has lost a good amount of weight and this has helped her overall health and vigor.
Adoption details
Firstly you will need to complete an application with your name and address and contact details for the microchip records. Our online application form is available on our website http://www.radarescue.org/online-application-form
Or an application form can be requested by using the Email Carer feature on the pet's listing.
Please note that while we consider all applications in the order in which we receive them, our animals are not adopted out on a first come, first served basis. Our objective is to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable ‘forever’ home available to meet the animal's (and the person’s) characteristics and needs.
The final decision about which new home the animal goes to is made by the foster carer based on their knowledge and understanding of the potential home and the personality of the individual animal. Sometimes it may take several enquiries before you find the right RADAR furry friend for you!
We will need a non-refundable holding deposit of $50 minimum to hold a pet for you whilst awaiting everything to be finalised, however this amount is deducted from the adoption fee.
RADAR expects full payment on exchange of the pet or prior to it leaving on transport.
RADAR expects you to be responsible for transport costs. We can help source appropriate transport options or help find accommodation if you need to travel and stay overnight.
It is understood that if all goes wrong that you can return the pet safely and unharmed to RADAR for a full refund within one week of the adoption.
