About Alaska ~ Cattle Dog x (on trial 31/5/2018)
Hi I’m Alaska an 8 week old handsome, happy go lucky Cattle x pup. I should grow up to be a medium to large doggy. I get on great with other dogs and currently live with 6 other puppies and my foster sister a 3 year old Blue Heeler who I love playing and exploring with. I am also growing up with 2 toddlers and a baby who I love giving kisses too and receiving heaps of cuddles and plenty of playtimes.
I am always happy and sometimes when I’m running my tail wags so fast that it makes me run a bit sideways! My foster mum says it’s adorable to see. I love being with you and will be your shadow, I’m placid and content to sit and snuggle with you as well. I will need to be welcomed inside often as well. I travel very well in the car and sleep most of the time traveling.
I am still working on toilet training and learning basic commands. I’m learning to sit when its tucker time too. But being a puppy all this will take time and I need your patience as I learn and thrive. I enjoy playing tug-o-war, chasing balls, chewing ropes, and just laying on our backs snuggled with you watching the day go by. I have 2 super cool eye patches too!
I am happy indoors sleeping but also happy sleeping in my big outdoor kennel as well so it would be great if I could do both at your home.
When it comes to walking on the lead I’ve only just started learning so this is a work in progress cause really I’m only 2 months old. PS: I also love treats as a reward for my hard work when I’m learning.
I reckon my ideal home needs to be full of love, fun, adventures and cuddles!!! I like toys around to play with especially if you’re not home. I need good fencing, a warm dry place to sleep, a playmate would be great, go for daily walks and have proper time to cuddle and play with you every day. Being this young though I do need someone home most of the day as I have 3 meals a day. I will reward you with smiles, licks, snuggles, loyalty, love and laughter. I’m 8 weeks old now and will be ready to go to my forever home between 9-10 weeks of age so I’m big enough.
As I’m not yet desexed, I am only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because I’ll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when I’m approximately 5 months old.
If you’re interested in me Alaska please email an application http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx to my foster mum Rebecca on becca.tw@hotmail.com I am in Newcastle area, NSW.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
